You do not need to be world-renowned climber wish vast experience to stand on top of Pisang peak which stands 6,091 meters tall along the northern stretch of the Annapurna round. Ice axe, crampons and previous high altitude climbing experience are required before you undertaken this challenging, but non-technical peak climb. This is one of the trips where amateurs can dare and a lot have done so with very satisfying result and capturing the moment of their life-time.
Trekking up the Marsyangdi valley gives you five days to acclimatization before arriving at Pisang peak base camp. 4 days are schedule to ascend to Pisang peak. Further adventures lie ahead as you cross Thorong-La Pass (17,700 ft) and continue the Annapurna round through Muktinath and Jomsom. This trek circumnavigates the entire Annapurna massif from Dumre, through Manang, over the Thorung-La (a 5,416 meters high pass), and down the Kali Gandaki-Jomsom. The crossing of Thorung-La requires two days of strenuous effort at high altitude. Although this trek is scheduled at times when there is typically good weather, it is possible that unseasonable snowfall may delay the crossing of the pass.
DAY TO DAY ITINERARY
Day 01 - Arrive in Kathmandu, airport pick-up, transfer to hotel, briefing about trip, welcome dinner
Day 02 - Sightseeing in Kathmandu, re-check the trekking/climbing gears
Day 03 - Take private drive to Besisahar and trek to Bulbule
Day 04 - Trek from Bulbule to Jagat
Day 05 - Trek from Jagat to Dharapani
Day 06 - Trek from Dharapani to Chame (3,400 meters)
Day 07 - Trek from Chame to Pisang (3,459 meters)
Day 08/12 - Climb Pisang Peak and back to Pisang
Day 13 - Trek from Pisang to Manang (3,569 meters)
Day 14 - Trek from Manang to Chulu Leather (4,507 meters)
Day 15 - Trek from Chulu Leather to Throng and then to Phedi (4,441 meters)
Day 16 - Cross Throung La Pass (5,416 meters) and trek to Muktinath (3,798 meters)
Day 17 - Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2,800 meters)
Day 18 - Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara and explore Pokhara
Day 19 - Early morning flight to Kathmandu from Pokhara, transfer to hotel
Day 20 - Return flight back home from Kathmandu
